Dating in later life

How on earth do you meet someone at 58?
Men my age want women in their 30s and 40s, I don't want to date men in their 70s.
I'm largely happy living on my own and have no intention whatever of getting married again but it would be nice to have someone to go on holiday with or to a pub or a day trip.
I don't fancy anyone on the older peoples dating sites and I'm sick of seeing pictures of flabby shirtless older men on there in tiny shorts who still think they are players.
I'd rather stay single than date someone who isn't up to my (not exacting) standards but where are they.
Why are women just not wanted at all over 50 by anyone.

I know a number of women who have met men in their 50s. But they haven't done it via online dating

They've met men doing hobbies - choir, AmDram, swing dance classes that sort of thing.

Yes get a few hobbies. I'm a guitar player and there are LOADS of events on that scene. Dont have to be a good player. Just go every week to jams and open mics, and soon its birthdays, festivals, gigs, garden parties, weekends away etc

Maybe for the same reasons the men you describe aren't?
