Should I go on this date (petty problem!)

He’s text and called and said he will sort the restaurant, he’s happy to come to me. I’ve already cancelled on him once before.. work related and he was understanding.

I so want to meet someone and be in a relationship but I’m jaded by it all and frankly feel defensive of the idea of even having to sit with someone new! I want to order takeaway and watch tv alone.

But tomorrow I will be feeling that longing to meet someone as another Sunday passes alone. And so it goes round. When I’m actually on a date I’m usually fine but tonight I just don’t know what to do. I don’t have ANY faith that it will become anything at all anymore.

Urgh feel so conflicted! What to do?

Go for it and have a brilliant time

PantryStyle · 15/08/2020 18:53

Thanks everyone. I wouldn’t have got myself off the sofa if it wasn’t for these posts! Still don’t feel like it at all but almost ready now, five min make up and wet hair Grin

Go go go. And I'm saying that as someone who was in the same predicament last night AND it was a bit of a non-starter. If it is, you can be home in a couple of hours and back on the sofa.

At this stage in the dating game I am keen on any man who is a) willing to come to (shows manners) and b) suggests and books venue

Have fun (and if not, there's always alcohol)

PantryStyle · 15/08/2020 19:23

At the venue. Really not feeling it...he should be here at half past. Probably rule to order a starter Wink

PantryStyle · 15/08/2020 19:33

Enjoy OP! I didn't have high hopes for my first date with DH and now....well! He's my DH!! Relax and have a good time (unless he's a weirdo in case make your excuses and go home to order your madras!).

PantryStyle · 15/08/2020 19:37

Haha thanks! I’ve just been on sooo many that I have zero energy or hope anymore! I’m sure he will be ok but DH is probably a stretch going on my statistics so far!

Are you kidding? My life is about as exciting as a knees up in a nunnery at the moment, I need a bit of vicarious...anything really!
PantryStyle · 15/08/2020 19:39

Haha! Well I’m still sat here with my wine and he’s held up in a taxi and apologies profusely!

Restaurant nearly empty and full of people wearing visors...all very romantic Grin

RoseTintedAtuin · 15/08/2020 19:51

Feel free to keep us updated throughout Smile there are many of us who would like to live vicariously through you Grin

chatterbugmegastar · 15/08/2020 19:58

I'm invested now Smile

Seeleyboo · 15/08/2020 20:23

OP I am like this everytime the opportunity is there to go out. Both me and my DH make excuses and say. Curry is cheaper. And staying in is cosy and warm. Plus no worries about who's driving. But we have each other. My daughter is very much like you though. Do what you feel you want to do.

Iooselipssinkships · 15/08/2020 20:33

Will wait patiently for an update and certainly won't be refreshing every two minutes.
