How to divorce?

Hi,
I could kill my husband right now but I’m trying to stay calm! It’s been rubbish for years and I’ve decided I’m not standing for it any more.

Sorry to ask. Can anyone help with how/where to start?

  • if we divorce can I get a bigger mortgage to buy out his half of house? I can afford monthly payments but not a lump sum.
-what if he won’t do that? I can’t afford to sell and start again.

Should I get a solicitor to help?

Basically, I am weighing up my options! Smile

I'm afraid I'm not much help, but whether you can get a bigger mortgage will depend on your earnings and credit profile. If you can't buy him out, you may need to sell.

Do you have kids? How old are they?

Lots of solicitors do a free introduction meeting, do some reading online about divorce to prepare and then arrange a meeting.

Best of luck

I recommend making an appointment with a solicitor to talk through your options.
