How do I find a good lawyer? Where would I start to look? Is there an association or accreditation that I should be looking for?
H had just announced he is leaving. We have 2 kids, one with additional needs.
Thanks.

First of all have a look at your local Solicitors Firms. Most will have a page with the names of their lawyers, and you can then look them up. You will be able to find their Law Society page, but some also have pages on rating sites.

So sorry this has happened to you xx

you will need a firm who specializes in Family law.

Thanks. I've had one appointment, wasnt v impressed with what she said. I've got another booked for next week.
It's expensive, isn't it! I know some do free inital appointments, but none have any space. Had to pay about £150 for a 30 min phone call!

Go for a firm that doesn’t offer legal aid, unless you qualify for it (generally only if DV) the legal aid solicitors are massively overworked and you will get a terrible service

Doyouknowwhat · 08/08/2020 14:49

Thanks, Lightline I think I'll have to do that.
I've no idea of I'd qualify or not, if its financial I only earn £22k, so I dont know if that is low enough
