Hi I am after a bit of advice please. My husband is 45 and has had a raised prostate for a few year now they do psa bloods every year on him. A year ago his prostate was 3.6 and he’s recent bloods have shown they are at 3.19 I don’t really understand it all but to me it seems a bit of a jump from 3.6 he’s on tamulousin to help with his flow and from what I have read it’s ment to help lover the psa level which it obviously hasn’t done. On the drs letter it says to be repeated in another years time. Do you think we showed be speaking to the dr about getting referred or more tests with it raising? We have a one year old son who sores on his dad and I am anxious at the best of times but worry that there is more to it. Any advice would be appreciated.

3.19 is lower than 3.6

3.6 is 3.60 (not 3.06) so is higher than 3.19.

What they said.

You've just made a very common schoolboy place value error.

It's all good. 3.19 is lower than 3.6 Smile

PSA levels are not a true indicator. He needs a prostate check and maybe a scan to see if the prostate is enlarged. It would seem so based on his medication. Regular checks on the prostate are recommended. I'm surprised his GP hasn't said this to him.

I'm not clued up on it either! That's just really basic maths though.
