Couples Therapy

Hi All,

Has anyone ever participated in online couples therapy/marriage counselling? DH and I have reached a point where we think it will be beneficial to help us deal with some problems/difficult times over the last year or so.... but we have no family nearby that could help with childcare. I was wondering if anyone has any experience in this or recommendations.

Thanks!

Not online, but have in person. We found it very useful. I can’t see how online would be too different.
At the end of the day what have you got to lose from giving it a go?

Pre-lockdown we did couples therapy and paid extra hours at nursery for our son to do so. Our psychologist was exceptional and the sessions were extremely beneficial.

If your DC can occupy themselves so you have privacy during your session then great but our 4 year old would not sit for so long unattended so we cannot continue while the nursery is closed. It was very emotional for both of us so we couldn't do it in the presence of our DC.

If you can't have privacy to do a joint session you could maybe try individual sessions initially so one of you can look after DC?
