To have very little in common?

Is it the norm to have very little in common with your husband other than the kids and the house? We like the same music and some TV shows but that's about it really. We are very different people, me being the extrovert and him being introverted. Is anyone else like this? We've been together for 12 years and married for 5 but I don't know it just feels like we are constantly drifting.

Why did you marry him if you have so little in common though ?
Did u used to have shared interests , values , beliefs etc and they have changed ?

DH and I are very different; even the tv shows we like are quite different but it just works between us. My parents were like this and I can see that they both used to do things for the other one that they wouldn’t necessarily have chosen to do (eg. Go on holidays they wouldn’t have chosen, do activities together that one wouldn’t have chosen). My favourite activities are relatively solo things like reading whereas DH likes sports that he can go to with his friends so it works for us. Before DC our main activity in common was going for nice meals which is rare now we have DC but will come back at some point

Just to add we have different values and political views but that just makes for healthy debate.

Fidgety, I was 16 when we got together. We both enjoyed going to gigs and spending time together. I'm now 29. Things have changed. Just wondering if it's normal really.
