What a joke the police are

Police haven’t arrested my ex husband.
They’ve just seen him and praised him apparently for getting counselling and living apart. Wow what a hero hey.

He’s promised the world these last few days. Failed to deliver though and changed his mind on a fundamentally life changing sum of money he got us into.

I have no choice but to be with him. If I split up he’ll get the children on his own and abuse them. Being with him is the only way I can assure they’re safe.
What a truly fucked up system

His version of what the police said is vanishingly unlikely to be the truth, you know that, don't you?

Why can't you leave? Many men who say they are going for 50/50 or even full custody dont actually bother when it comes down to it. You don't have to live like this.

He told me that’s what happened with the police.

And you believe him?

Don't believe what he has told the police, definitely find out from them directly. You said he is manipulative and that is more than likely what he is doing here, my ex did it all the time even when speaking with my family. Did they take a statement from you?

Contact women's aid they've been a god send for me, document everything that's happened and see if you can get some evidence together. When you do leave, and you definitely should leave, do not let exp any contact not even supervised.. even if he takes you to court. Get them to do safe guarding reports, basically everything you can to endure the courts see he is a risk to your children. I made the mistake of trying to be reasonable and also got bullied into allowing supervised contact, now courts seem to be doing little to protect dd.. so don't be a me. Think ahead, get your ducks in a row and get you and your dcs out. Good luck op Flowers

Just because that's what he told you, doesn't necessarily mean that's what happened

This. Sadly I have more than one narcissistic ex and they would do exactly this to fuck with your head. One treated me so badly that my DM (I was in my early 20s) rang him to give him a piece of her mind. This is totally out of character for her. I was there for the call but he didn't know. The version he gave me later was laughable, that my DM clearly really liked him, they were laughing and joking, and she agreed with him that I was crazy. Nothing of the sort ever happened. She well and truly put him in his place and you could hear he hated every second.

Try dating one!!!
It took 5 months for cps to decide they didn't have enough evidence to charge my copper ex!!!

So he's still dealing with the public!

Can't be bring shame on the force, can't have the embarrassment.

So next time someone ask why didn't you call the police because they don't do fuck all!

Nice one @DahliaDay.
So OP has now seemingly left due to your nasty and uncalled for comments.

What on earth happened to #bekind

I really hope OP gets some support with all of this
