Hello! Dh and I are separating/divorcing and I’m just looking for some books with guidance to helps the kids through it. Ages 4 and 7.

We’re pretty amicable, we’re still living in the family home for around another six months yet. He’s in a different room as he was a bad snorer anyway so the kids havnt really noticed any thing and we don’t argue around them.

I’ve started to read a couple of samples of books before I download them and they make for grim reading, setting out quite clearly that it’s going to be a traumatic event for them Sad

We’re both good parents and both want to put the kids first so was hoping posters might have read some good books to help them achieve a ‘good’ outcome.

Also advice on how to actually tell them. As they won’t know anything untill the point the kids and I move out. Do I prepare them now? Do I wait? Do I tell them that daddy is moving in with grandad to help him with his house?

The kids will live with me but dh will want to see them through the week and at weekends he is very hands on.

Any suggestions would be great
