We have a 16 week old baby and my partner wants to go to a BBQ tomorrow. Because it's at a work colleagues house he thinks it's ok. Never mind the other people that live in that house.

I said if he was to go he wasn't to step foot back home till he self isolated for 7 days to make sure he had no symptoms. I can't tell you the amount of grief I've got because of this. AIBU??

“for a birthday hmm”

How annoying for you. Totally against the rules. Birthday is no excuse. My younger DD turned 13 in lockdown and made do with just us for company. Many of my friends have children who have celebrated significant teen birthdays in lockdown - and have stayed home and zoomed their friends. If they can manage it, surely this colleague can.
