Anyone experienced mixed signals

Seeing someone since January long distance due to our work/family situations

We get on so well most of the time. However he constantly seems to give me mixed messages. For instance he will say things about going away together, moving nearer to me eventually. Then at some point he will just completely flip a switch. An innocent comment earlier started another flip - asked how things were and said I was looking forward to finally being able to see each other and he said I was needy.

Wtf goes through their head when they are like this?

There is no point in asking yourself what goes through their heads. It's not relevant. What is relevant is how they are coming across to you.

Never, in the history of successful human relationships, is being accused of neediness a factor.

Probably best it stays long-distance then.

You don't want to be in a relationship where you're constantly on tenterhooks wondering when the switch will flip again.

Have you ever been away together?

It sounds as if he says “oh, I’d love to take you to Amsterdam for Valentines Day” or “shall we book a short break to the Lakes in summer.” If there are no trips then he’s just bullshitting to keep you on the hook.

We've met about five times or so then lockdown occurred. We talk most days though mostly at his initiation

I guess if he's not into us everyday I can't be arsed to hang around waiting for the occasions he can
