I am a mid 40s male who moved to a new small city 10 months ago (from a large city) with my partner and her 11 year old son and our newborn son as he was then.
As you can imagine with a newborn and a new city is has been a tough old year, however, I am really worried as my partner openly hates living in our new city.
I believe our new city is better for families and is safer, however, I have said I would move again if it is right for the family.
The 11 year old has made new friends and does not want another move. My partner says we can move in 5 or so years when the boy has finished secondary school, however, I think she wont be able to cope with another 5 plus years in a city she hates.
I don't blame her as visiting a city and living in one are totally different and she has just not settled, however, her mood is always down these days and it is causing us relationship issues.
When she has a bad day she always hates the city etc but this just frustrates me as either we move now or we have to get on with it.
Not even sure what advice I am seeking but any similar experiences would be good.
