Nope - I've been known to call DH "mum" by accident(!)

CountessDracula · 18/09/2007 11:13

pmsl!

DH said goodbye to dd and me this am, he said "bye mummy" and I just said "I'm NOT your mummy"...

I find it cringe-making when couples do this when kids not around so want to nip in bud

EmsMum · 18/09/2007 11:15

DH does it to try to wind me up so I retaliate by calling him Pops.

twofishes · 18/09/2007 11:27

it makes me feel queasy !!....my parents have friends who STILL call each other Mother & Father and their kids are in their 30's

yeuch

DH came in from work last night and said, "Hello Mummy". I didn't even turn round - just replied, "Your mother isn't here!".

thegardener · 18/09/2007 11:29

No just laugh, he obviously didn't intend to call you that as he laughed.

If it happens again maybe you could tactfully say that you think it sucks

contentiouscat · 18/09/2007 11:31

Hmm if its by mistake then its quite funny but bleurgh if its going to become a habit - id find it hard to sh*g a husband who calls me Mummy.

Get quite queasy when MIL refers to DH's father as "Daddy"

twofishes · 18/09/2007 11:32

pmsl at your response LilRedWG....thing is now he knows it winds me up it's going to be used sooo much , probably when out together!!!
