Discussing this with a friend. Would you be happy to be dumped by text after being in a relationship for 2 yrs?
I wouldn't I would want to meet face to face. Providing it was safe and practicable.

After a few weeks of dating? Fine.

After a two year relationship? Oh hell no! Totally unacceptable.

I was dumped by my last two relationships by text. The first one was right after I told him I was pregnant and he immediately dumped me and blocked me from ever contacting him again, and the second one was a long arsed rambling essay about why we shouldn't be together (turned out, he was already with someone else). It took me a very long time to get over it because I never got the answers to the question I had.

It's a really disrespectful way of ending that was meaningful at some point.

I suppose it depends what you find acceptable I think if I've treated a DP with respect I should get respect back. A phone call would probably be best meeting maybe too upsetting. As long as I got an explanation. I think text shows a lack of respect and then if you wanted to discuss anything it's alot of texting back and forth whereas a phone call is much quicker and not open to any ambuiguity!

I have almost always been dumped by text or email. Dozens of times. Most of the men blocked me as well, so I couldn’t even reply. It’s AWFUL. Please don’t do it. Have the guts to phone the person.
