Advice please

Hi all, well to those who read it. I’m Dave I’m 37 from the uk.

First this post is two fold really. So I’m single. I’m ready to put myself out on the market again but I have a couple of questions only ladies like yourself could answer.

So a little about me, I’ve had three long term relationship, first one left me, second one cheated on me and the third one became so unhappy with life I became her verbal punching bag and it made me unhappy. I fought to keep it working but I knew she wouldn’t change and neither should she have to for me.

But alas that’s left me 37, single and a little worried.

So I’ve always wanted children. For me it’s not yet happened. I don’t know why but I get nervous when I think about how old I will be when and if I get to have children. Is that something I should be worried about?

Also age wise, is my age going to put off my weight would be suitors? For OLD I would be looking at 28 to 36. That doesn’t have children that wants one or two or that has child and wants another. So will my age put people off? Or will women find my age acceptable?

I seem to get myself worked up about having children in my late 30’s and early 40’s but everyone I speak to say’s they wouldn’t be worried if they were in my shoes or would be worried about other things?

No I wouldn’t be worried about your age, lots of people are having children later in life.

I wouldn't be worried but it would put me off a man if he only wanted to date women younger than him even if I was younger than him. I'm 33 but you saying that would make me think you're a bit of an idiot.

My DH was 38 when we met. Neither of us had children but now we do! It's definitely not too late for you but I think you will have to be really careful with who you date. If they say they don't want to have children for 10 years say, then that wouldn't work for you.

This I'm afraid, it seems a bit odd that you're worried your age will put people off when you yourself are put off by people who are your age?

I don't think your too old at all, alot of people have children in there 40s etc.

You said you're 37 and that you would set your parameters to women aged 28-36, so only women younger than you. So you're saying you wouldn't be interested in women your own age, given the choice, surely?

Women's fertility window goes on longer than your specified age-range.

Your age is fine but I don't date men who are only looking for younger women on principle. Plenty of women 36+ have babies so it would be pretty stupid of you to rule them out tbh

Your age wouldn't put me off. I'm 35. I do question why you only want a younger girlfriend though.

I'm 36, and your age obviously wouldn't put me off! Is the reason you want a younger partner because of having children? Or another reason? But no, I don't think you need to worry!

@Hotpinkangel19 yes mainly due to wanting children. But it wouldn’t put me off someone older than me or the same age. Just most women my age have children...
