Someone taking a picture of our house.

Our scruffy terraced house that is in need of a good paint job.

I confronted him (in my towel just out of showerBlush) from my bedroom window he was flustered and polite and said he was a photographer Hmm I can tell you now my house is of no photographic interest.

I know this isn't a crime per se but I've watched too many dodgy horror films to not be deeply unsettled.

I called 101 and their recorded message suggested online report which I have done as I had registration of car.

I'm now worried I'm going to get this person into trouble. Am also worried he's a serial killer

No you've definitely done the right thing logging it.

Did he say why he was photographing your house?

I'd be creeped out also and I'd of also definitely reported it's a bit suspicious really isn't it.

And also cheeky, I mean who the actual fuck does that without asking. He must of been pissing about out there for a while if you seen him
Then he was still there when you went out.

Chickenpie9 · 23/04/2020 20:51

Could it be someone who lived there previously ? Or got some connection to the street ? Though I’m baffled why they would choose to photograph your house during lockdown if it was for a reason like that . Very weird .

iklboo · 23/04/2020 21:05

If your house looks 'scruffy' maybe it looks interesting in black & white as an arty type shot.

Where does OP say he was still there when she went out?

thequeenbeyondthewall · 23/04/2020 21:28

It doesn't I've totally read that wrong.

TheoriginalLEM · 23/04/2020 21:49

Lol could deffo be arty if you were into mess!
Police are investigating and are going to call me tomorrow to take statement

He had stopped his car in the middle of the street and got out. I think there might have been two of them as I could hear talking. I didn't go out just opened the bedroom window. I was getting dressed

It's weird and you were right to report. If he's innocent he'll be happy to explain ...

Well even if he's questioned he's hardly likely to say 'it's a fair cop, guv. I'm a serial killer casing my next joint' is he?

Prontoe · 24/04/2020 00:22

Don't expect much investigation! But if it set your radar off that something was wrong, you were right to report.

NewAndImprovedNorks · 24/04/2020 00:24

You are kidding, aren’t you?

No, really, though?

Seriously?

HeddaGarbled · 24/04/2020 00:24

It could be innocent. Our local photography group has monthly themes like ‘yellow’ or ‘contrast’ or ‘reflection’ etc.

TheoriginalLEM · 24/04/2020 09:07

@heddaGarbled i thought this. The irony being that a FB friend of mine is doing similar in Bermuda with gates and doors, I've even 'liked his posts. My front door is of no interest I can assure you though.

I just felt uneasy but i would be sad if he was genuine. He didn't explain himself well when challenged and drove off flustered.

Try not to worry too much, I know you think your house is just a mess and not worthy of any kind of photography but being the girlfriend of a very arty type of photographer I can honestly say it could just be the way the clouds looked in a window, the position of the sun making nice colours, or even the fact your house was the type of arty shot they were going for. You get my drift. Guess it also depends what type of camera he was using though
