Partner annoyed with me

Hi there.

My family and I had a Tibetan Terrier dog and she sadly passed in the summer. Myself and my partner have since moved out and wanted a TT of our own. We have been talking to the breeder and have put a deposit down on our lovely girl, Daisy. We were both so excited (and still are!)

Then a family pulled out on Daisy’s sister. I said to my partner about it and he said that we couldn’t afford to have two. I then messaged my parents about having the other (they have been looking for a TT too, but weren’t actively looking this time).

My parents are so excited to have another dog back in their lives again. My partner was fine at first but then turned moody. He originally wanted a puppy that was a dark brown colour but that wasn’t available to us at the time. I said to him that we should just be thankful for the lovely gold and white girl we have and he started to say how both puppies are coming to our families together and that it won’t be special for us anymore.

I’ve tried explaining that our puppy will still be special because we will love her in our home- a family of three.

Do you think I’ve been unreasonable? We live 30 mins away from my parents so both puppies will have separate lives whilst seeing each other on fun occasions. It is nice to see my parents happy and I thought it would be some kind of happy ending but now I’m just feeling sad to have upset my partner.

Thanks (Photo attached)

He's upset because your family are also getting a puppy at the same time as you and he thinks it won't be special now? Am I reading that correctly?

If so your husbands a twit.
