Sure there are many of us in this boat now.
Any funny stories so far to lighten the mood?

Due to move next week to DH trying to do some very serious work amongst a shitload of boxes, with our DS screaming “TICKLE MONSTER” at him constantly and our dog jumping around the boxes. It’s a nightmare but you have to see the funny side. He also managed to clog both the bath and the sink on the same day this week. It’s been...it’s been interesting 😃

roe2002 · 19/03/2020 21:48

I don’t even find it boring to stay inside all day ...but I don’t understand why in one box of rice krispies there are 2453 pieces, and in the other one 2467!!..🤔

I’m enjoying the conference calls with colleagues gradually getting more and more casual as the week goes on with no one quite daring to be the first in PJs although I’m sure a few definitely have pj bottoms on where the camera can’t see. A few pets have popped in to say hi too.

SoloMummy · 19/03/2020 22:01

I work from home as the norm, and never turn my camera on for colleagues lol! If with a client I am fully made up lol and hair combed to not just scraped back in my nightie lol!

Crickets · 19/03/2020 22:06

We have all put stickers over our cameras. We have a team tea break and have a quiz or best meme for 10 mins which is the best part of the entire day.

Purplecatshopaholic · 19/03/2020 23:31

We have had a few pets sneaking into shot in virtual meetings too. And I agree the ‘dress code’ for Skype meetings may well deteriorate quite rapidly. We are all trying to keep each other’s spirits up

I’m waiting for my cats to do an epic photo bomb. I know they’re saving it for the most serious meeting possible.

I've WFH for over 10 years, so this isn't new to me and Mrs PC has occasionally, but not as much as she is now.

We are sharing the dining room table, which has been fun to be honest. Although we must have been bored the other day, we found ourselves having a conversation about the Sky News presenters we'd shag! Hmm

Now they've closed my youngests Secondary School and the eldests Colliege, I guess our occasional "long lunch breaks" are a thing of the past. Sad

SomeoneElseEntirelyNow · 20/03/2020 05:20

My boss and i both have small babies- we've been having them on our laps during video calls, they are FASCINATED by the baby in the computer!

CappyCapCap · 20/03/2020 05:43

I, stupidly, left my laptop open half way through emailing my boss and went to make a coffee.

Next thing I knew, my boss was skype calling me very concerned asking if I was ok. I am looking at him, confused. Still in my pjs and not even brushed my hair.

Turns out one of these knobheads decided to finish my email with 'agshshhssvsgsgtstsvsvsvvssgsgsggggg' and sent it. Boss was concerned I had collapsed in my keyboard, while working.

I suspect it was the little one.

@roe2002 I get you, even if others have overlooked your joke 😂

Was on an audio conference call yesterday with colleagues when a delivery person rang my doorbell. My dog went into her usual ecstasy of barking, which set off four colleagues’ dogs on the line too. Call had to be muted for a while to accommodate us calming pets.

Theredjellybean · 20/03/2020 06:40

There is now four of us in our house all wfh.. We decided if the WiFi cannot cope then we decide who gets first dibs by the person who does the best tic toc dance video.... We are 55,51, 20 and 22...we had had a few drinks when we came up with this idea

Mitzdob · 20/03/2020 06:46

DH was on a conference call, at the same time me and kids rang my dad to sing happy birthday to him! All 12 people on conference called heard and wished my dad happy birthday!!

One if mine almost did this yesterday. Jumped up onto the desk but luckily only showed me her bum and not 10 of my senior colleagues!

I just finished an email to a male colleague and was moving the mouse to press send when my cat stood on the keyboard and produced a huge line of x's after my sign off. Luckily I didn't hit send!

I love these!

CappyCapCap · 20/03/2020 07:18

A friend who isnt WFH went home at lunchtime. Greeted her dog in her usual baby voice and asked where daddy was (meaning her partner). She went in the kitchen and he had is head in his hands. He was in a teleconference with the rest if the board members of his company.

Who all heard her refer to him as daddy.

Apparantly they found it hilarious.

It's going to take a while for people to get used to this

StarlightLady · 20/03/2020 08:40

I still put my makeup on everyday. But not always my knickers!
