Does anyone believe in zodiac compatibility between partners?

Whenever I read about compatibility if it says they are not compatible I feel disheartened then start subconsciously acting distant towards them. The thing is how can I know it is accurate and if people are slightly different to their zodiac. Is it best to just give people a chance and forget the 'zodiac compatibility'.

If this is genuine, then a. Zodiac signs etc are not true and b. You should of course judge people on their behaviour, not their star sign.

It is absolute bollocks, there's no evidence behind it, whatsoever.

Even if it were true, the astrologers themselves say there's more to attraction than just "Earth sign + Earth sign = Happy Ever After". Moon, Venus and Mars are (allegedly) far more important.

its very accurate if you really know what its about. Its not basically your zodiac and their zodiac. There are undercurrents of other signs. For example I'm scorpio but I have cancer as a moon sign. Typical scorpio but really emotional and family orientated due to the moon sign. Now add all the other planets and signs to the mix and its easy to see why no two scorpios are exactly alike. compatability should not be based soley on the sign you were born under. Thats best left to the pages of teen magazines.

I wouldn't say I'm a believer but I did discover something that I found quite fascinating a few years ago when OLD.

The site I used seemed to be overrun with Capricorns, like most profiles. And hardly any Aries (me) or Leo. Capricorns (supposedly) are quite introverted and I can imagine that the idea of chatting to people online with no pressure would be quite appealing. A + L can be arrogant cunts that would be more likely to say 'I don't need OLD, I can pull any one in any bar!'

It should also be noted that based on numerous dates with Capricorns, apparently I am not compatible with any of them

My mum's mate is an astrologer and told me that taking all the above into account me and exH were perfectly suited.

OP I don't care about zodiac signs anyway as they're sketchy at best but I've been with my DP 13 years since I was 18, we are total opposites, I found out last week that he is a completely different zodiac sign than I thought (the stellar 'logic' being that he was born in the month before me, so he was the same star sign as my DM, also born in that month). Other than learning I'm a moron, I learned we have the same zodiac sign. Apparently he thought it was some sort of weird in joke when I comment the likes of "haha perhaps it's because you're a Libra".

Do you think you're looking for reasons not to enter into things with people? Issues with commitment etc?

Twelve categories of people. Half a billion in each category. All with the same personality traits driven by the month they were born. Seems legit.

Good point about the accuracy of online zodiac compatibility tests. Tbh, I think they are probably fine. I doubt that many of the half a billion people in any zodiac group could be slightly different to their zodiac. Dump anyone who has the wrong date of birth.

God knows why mental health services don't use the zodiac. Date of birth explains everything important about a person's personality.

There are twelve zodiac signs and therefore the universe is broken down into twelve personality types (average taken). Plus each horoscope which says a Virgo is going to win big or meet a new lover means one in twelve of the population will be lucky! I’ve never met two people that much alike let alone twelve. No I don't believe in that, don't really believe in astrology at all. If I was to believe in it then my relationship wouldn't have worked out and we have been together over 20 years with a few kids...

I'm an earth sign, so is my ex, apparently we were very compatible if you believe that stuff. We're divorced so obviously we weren't that compatible!

You need to combine the Western horoscopes with the Chinese ones. Then take into account the different traits of the Chinese years and elements and combine them. It actually makes a bit more sense then.
'The New Astrology' by Suzanne White is an interesting (I found it amusing) read on the mix of Western and Eastern and for me it was accurate, however pairing people up that look compatible doesn't work at all.

People say it is because of the shift over the years and that we now actually should have 13 months. It is possible, but it still doesn't work because some people are just not the way they are 'supposed' to be.

I would take zodiac signs with a pinch of salt. They are interesting and I once owned a book that went into great detail about zodiac signs. According to the book your zodiac isn't as simple as the dates you were born in. Basically delved into all manner of personality traits and life experiences. Felt pretty accurate for me but then it is a confirmation bias.

I wouldn't base potential relationships on them.
