Personally I think if you reach a point where you feel you have to check your partners phone, then the relationship is already dead in the water.

No idea. Wasn't it automatically applied if someone tried to reply on a thread over a certain number of days/ months/years old?

It should be a pop up before opening the thread; click, opens 'big warning sign', then you have to click again to get to the thread.
