Does anyone have any shit hot lawyer suggestions for the Bristol area? Ideally Bristol rather than Bath as I don't have a car.
Separated over 2 years now, nearly 3, but not yet divorced. He has recently arranged an IVA, is generally financially incompetent and I need to get this done before he's forced in to bankruptcy and they go after the house.
The house was paid for entirely by money borrowed from my family, not a penny from him. In addition to this, it is now mortgaged to clear his personal debt (mortgage now at £30k). I would like to try and keep the house, so the kids have some security as it will never come from him, but I'm concerned about the implications of the mortgage in relation to the money owed to my family (legally tied up! Don't worry), which are complicated. After a meeting with one solicitor today (property law instead), it is clear to me that this is best solved by him no longer having anything to do with the house, so a mesher order is out of the question. So, I need the best representation I can find, to try to get a better deal; hopefully then I can borrow enough from family to buy him out...
