UK Floods

Is anyone personally affected by the floods? I'm watching the news and in bits at what people in the affected areas are going through. Houses, homes, businesses, cars , playgrounds submerged..its horrible.
And many can't get insurance since the last time.
I remember back in the day that the rivers were regularly dredged and as kids we'd watch the dredging barges slowly navigate up and down the waterways scooping up the mud and the silt as they went.
Can't remember any flooding either...can't remember any dredging since then either...

Yes. The route to where I work is flooded and I have to do about a 40-mile diversion to and from, which has doubled my fuel bill and travel time. I'm exhausted and my route is through horrible flooded back lanes with trees coming down as it continues to rain which block certain routes, and I have to keep changing routes which is really stressful and not pleasant in the dark.

And I'm one on the lucky ones, at least my house hasn't flooded!
