How many times have you been in love?

I'm in my 30's and been in love three times so far. Currently single and wondering how many more loves I might have. I hope it's just one more and it will be the love of my life!

Once. He was a complete scumbag and I shouldn’t have bothered.

I’m in my 30s and just once. We are no longer together

Once. Met when we were 16 and 2 moves, 2 kids, various job changes, numerous family weddings and funerals and 25 years later he's still my best friend.

Once, with my DH.
My only relationship before him was when I was 17-19. I said I loved him and believed i did but when we split and I met DH at 19, I knew very quickly that I had never been in love before.

Maybe I've been lucky to have been in love three times already by 34 then. Seems like quite a lot compared to all the numbers other posters are throwing out there. Saying that, breaking up with three loves is never nice and I still think about all three of them a lot! Sigh!

Thought I was in love with the others and wasn’t at all.

I am on the brink of maybe being able to fall in love with someone now, I’m not in love with them but the possibility for it to happen is there. All the chemistry and hormones

Three times for me, including my current relationship which is in the early stages (4 months). The article @Mum4Fergus has linked to seems quite accurate (scarily) for me.

I would say 3 times, interspersed with some sex/infatuation/just didn’t feel it relationships. First time in love was between 19-21 with my uni boyfriend. Then when I was 22 with an older colleague who ended up breaking my heart. Then again shortly after with my now DH which was a slow burner that started with a friendship after bastard colleague. I’m about to turn 27.

Oh loads of times. I've had more than ten boyfriends and I must have been in love with half of them.

Just once. Meeting him blew anything else I'd ever experienced totally out of the water. I cared about my exes and even loved some of them but I wasn't in love.

3 times. Once when a teenager. Broke up when we went off to uni. He later died in his early 50s of a brain tumour. Second was my late husband, married 24 years together 28 he also died aged 50 if a brain tumour.
Number 3 been with for 18 months and in love just as long he is 61 (I'm 56) so hope I can keep this one.

Never. Being in love is a social construct, not an actual state of being. It's a label for a collection of feelings.

One. My current partner. Been with him 14 years this year since I was 20.

4 times, I'm 52. Latest has been for 23 years. First 2 were love but not the same type as I have now, 3rd time is utterly and completely dead so it's hard to think of it as love, I like to think it wasn't but I don't know if I'm just projecting my now feelings onto then.
