Long story short. I've been asked out for a drink by someone who I know briefly via work. (Not the same job, we just cross over).
He looks about 35 and acts it. Very professional. I've been texting and he told me he is 27. I dont know what to do.
He knows my age and states it doesnt bother him.

I'm 38 and wouldn't go below about 35. I want someone with as much life experience as i have. I don't want to have to be constantly explaining my pop culture references!

EdgeWithNoReason · 20/02/2020 08:35

I dated a 32 yr old when I was 42 but I wouldn't have gone much younger because at the time my son was 25 and it felt odd.

ScarlettBlaize · 20/02/2020 08:43

I'm about 40. For casual sex I think 27 is fine. If I were looking for a long term relationship I would want someone close to my age. My husband is 2 years older than me and I like that we have shared cultural reference points. (Have had bigger age gaps in past relationships)

Nothing wrong with it OP. Go for it

SVRT19674 · 20/02/2020 11:23

40+ wouldn't be interested in someone who was 27 but then I set my sights on men who are slightly older than me. +0 to +4, that's the pattern in my relationship life.

Oh just go and enjoy yourself. I was 30 when I got with my partner who was 22. I had 2 kids as well. And he’s bloody awesome and we are good together! You never know unless u try. Also my ex’s nan was a single mother of 7 at 30 when she met her fella and he was 21. They were married 45 years until he passed

HuskyloverI · 20/02/2020 12:41

No way. He's only had the key to the door for 6 years!

I'd find a grown up. This one is barely cooked!

Musti · 20/02/2020 12:46

I wouldn't go more than 3-5 years either side of my age. Not only that, but would want them to have kids and no want any more kids so our lives to be similar in terms of responsibility.

Desolate2nite · 20/02/2020 22:54

Go for it and enjoy yourself x

Pandamoore · 21/02/2020 03:06

33?

Mydogatemypurse · 22/02/2020 08:41

Well we went for a meal. It was very nice. Hes very nice but inevitably there wasnt really a spark. I had a good time tho and it was an ego boost. I actually think he was looking to date from what he was saying.
Hes a talker so I got quite a bit out of him.
I'm glad I went.
