Relationship over tips for dealing with boredom

Ended a serious relationship a month ago. I'm in the 'one day I'm boohooing' and next 'I'm not soooo bad'. Not ready to jump back into the saddle just yet but I'm bored. Gone back to gym, I do something with friends once a week, over watching tele, bought a book lol but miss the daily adult-companionship company... any thoughts on how to manage/fill this.

Do you work during the day? My first thought was that you could join a club....sports or drama or something like that which meets regularly.

I also thought about either a sports club, course or hobby.

Is there anything you enjoy or fancy trying?

It's the perfect time to try something new or get back into something you used to enjoy.

Over the years I've tried/done:

  • upholstery (course)
  • sewing (various lessons)
  • crochet
  • art classes
  • philosophy classes
  • counselling training (just intro level)
  • couch to 5k running club
  • language classes
  • cooking classes
  • medieval stone carving classes(!)
  • yoga
  • belly dancing
  • pottery classes

Is there anything on meetup.com near you?

I went to a few Meet Ups when I was single...

There’s a singles club near to us. It’s not widely advertised but it’s hugely popular and they are out all of the time.

Would volunteering help? One of my lovely single friends works two evenings a week in a local homeless shelter.

Another is part of the local theatre group.

@jiltedJohnsjulie @wheresmymojo @billhadersnewwife hi, thanks so much - great ideas. I think joining a group makes loads of sense - and actually fun too! Would like to learn something new and have a natter to boot - perhaps crafty, havent done anything like that for a lifetime. Thank you greatly for taking the time to suggest - really does helps. Have lovely days :)
