Relatively new DP bought me 2 bunches of flowers for valentines day, (my ex DH never did), I've had a shit year with divorce so it I really appreciated it yet didn't expect anything.
My friend has been messaging me during the day and kept asking what I got from him (which annoyed me), then when I said, she said 'what a creep' for buying 2!.....I felt I had to justify why he bought 2 bunches... why do people have to find the negative in something nice or look for an ulterior motive?

Usually because they aren't very nice people, are unhappy in their own lives and are jealous, could be one or all of the above.
I think it is very sweet your DP bought you two bunches, perhaps he didn't know which you'd prefer etc.
I love buying/receiving flowers so as far as I'm concerned the more the merrier!

I also got two bunches Grin
She’s insecure, most of people’s behaviour is about how they feel, rather than anything else.
Enjoy your flowers, she’s in her own world of hurt.

Yes I felt it could be jealousy but Id only wish others well if their DP/DH got them anything nice. She seemed to enjoy the drama when I split with my DH yet now I'm happier, she's trying to pick faults with it. I just don't get people at times!
