Ex and child maintenance

So my ex pays under the legal requirement for child maintenance, currently going through cms to get this sorted. But AIBU that I think the fact he refuses to help when it comes to clothes, car seat, shoes, classes for DD. He has said even when she goes to school, she is under 2, he won’t be helping with school uniforms and will only contribute to school trips.

DD will never go without, I’ve always made sure of this, just don’t understand why he wouldn’t want to make sure his daughter is taken care of.

Because that's what some men do.

There is not a legal requirement. It's a % of his income. Go through the correct system and they will identify the figure for you.

It’s not exactly unusual, my ex hasn’t paid a penny in years. (For 4 children)

It could be because
-He's feckless and selfish
-He thinks you got yourself pregnant to spite/punish him
-He thinks if you don't want him you don't get his money
-He 's one of those dickheads who think you should be grateful for the pennies
-He knows he can get away with it

Don't waste your time on this query

Seriously, if he isn't taking it seriously now you should expect him to disengage further. She will be more concerned about the missed and ropey contact that she has with him.
