Need some advice or a handhold

Newly registered, need some advice please.

I've been single for basically all my life and, now that I am officially mid 20s (turned 25 this week), I am starting to feel like I'm a freak in society.

My problem is that I am still a virgin. But, the very thought of sex is just awful to me. Putting anything up there makes me feel uncomfortable; I stopped using tampons as soon as I could and hated my first smear test (granted its not fun but I left feeling awful).

I've considered that I may be asexual, but has anyone else had this feeling before?

Does it hurt for anything to be asserted OP? There's a condition called [[
www.nhs.uk/conditions/vaginismus/ Vaginismus]] which is where you vaginal muscles tighten up whenever penetration is attempted.

Do you feel sexually attracted to other people, men or women?

Is there anything in your background that may cause you fear of sex or intimacy such as abuse?

Inserted, not asserted.

I am attracted to other people, but the very idea of having sex is just...ick to me.

There's been no abuse in my past, not that I can remember at least?

Have you had any blood tests to check your hormones?

If it's nothing medical it could be that you're simply asexual. Plenty of people are. It's still possible to have a relationship when you're asexual. You're not a freak at all and you're still young. Just be honest with potential partners as it could be a problem later down the line if you pretend to be something you're not.

I'm asexual and my 20s was a very confusing time. Basically wanting to fit in.
I'm 57 now and live alone after 2 failed marriages and it's great.
I've never been attracted to anyone but there are many different types some romantic some not.
Go on to AVEN online and have a read through and see if it sounds like you.
It could be something more physical.

@madcatladyforever I've looked at AVEN before and definitely identified with some of the things on there. I found the term autochorissexual before, which means you feel sexual attraction, but have no desire to participate, if that makes sense? That's kind of me.

The last boyfriend I told (who was arguably the most 'serious' if you like) said that if I was asexual, we'd need to have a 'proper talk' in the future as I could be expected to leave him unfulfilled. He broke up with me a few days later, so...

Slow down, you're still young and discovering your sexuality. As you know you could be anywhere on the asexual spectrum.
Have you posted on the AVEN forum??

You're more likely to get an answer there than here.
