What's the point?

Having been on Mumsnet for a while now I'm really surprised to learn how many women compromise and sacrifice to a point where they put themselves at risk. They often end up being the ones that get punished for all they have compromised and sacrificed on.

What's the point in sacrificing your own career to help advance your husband's?

What's the point in aiding your husband in making money while you make none for yourself?

What's the point in women taking most of the financial responsibility of running a household and family all while they still do all of the domestic work on top, too?

What's the point in paying for your partner's debts? In fact, what's the point in having joint finances, assets etc.

I'm not asking to stir things up, I'm just genuinely curious what goes through people's minds when they decide on these things. Am I missing something?

I agree with you 100%. Unfortunately, one shoe doesn't fit all. There are numerous reasons as to why relationships take on the path you mentioned. Sometimes we just have to revel in the madness to see sense. Besides, it's always easy to think logically when you're not in the situation itself. It's happened to me before, but I'm much more wiser and have a low tolerance towards MANBS.
