Shy or self centred?

There is a guy I know who likes me. I know he is an introvert and is in his 40s. The thing he asked for my help and I helped him with some coursework which he did not even say thank you for my help. He talks about himself a lot and I don’t know if he does this due to nerves or is self centred. Should I see what happens or move on and find someone else? I want to be with someone who values me.

Find someone else

He won't change. So even if it is shyness rather than self centred-ness, it will still be upsetting. It sounds like hard work, hopefully there is someone out there who is easier.

He's self centred.

He wasn't shy in asking for your help so he was more than capable of saying 'thank you'.

Move on. Funnily enough I've just mentioned a self centred ex in another thread who only talked about himself. He was a kind person in some ways but it was horribly draining.
