Doesn’t comment on how you look for a night out?
Did my hair, nails and actually put on a dress for a girls night out on Saturday. Just a small acknowledgment of ‘you look nice’.
Nothing. And I was wearing a dress that he had seen and said he liked (it’s a gorgeous shirt dress from warehouse)
I know this has been done to death before but I just feel hurt by his lack of giving a shit!

DH would do his best to say something nice if asked directly but he wouldn't comment otherwise. On the whole, I prefer it that he appreciates me for things other than my appearance Grin

Some people don’t really like having attention drawn to their looks, even if it’s ‘positive’ comments. He might be like that and assume you are too?

People do tend to only see things from their POV, and extrapolate from that place.

I would definitely expect some sort of reaction if I was all dressed up looking fab. I usually get a grope Grin or a "bloody hell babe"....which is nice.....if he doesnt react I am left wondering why !

RantyAnty · 10/02/2020 18:02

He should say something nice. Had an ex like that.

nacher · 10/02/2020 18:05

Yes OP, but would he have complimented you if you'd dressed up for him, and not for a girl's night out where other men might notice you?

LemonTT · 10/02/2020 18:19

Mine does compliment and will say if he thinks something doesn’t suit.

He likes a lot of praise. I give it but it doesn’t come naturally. And can be tiring when it’s fishing for compliments through negativity about himself.

You know you look good.

LouReidDododo · 10/02/2020 18:26

Not all the time no but most of the time I’m flying out of the house so the kids can’t touch me!

He told me the other day unprompted that I looked better than all the girls in Love island even at my age Hmm ( I’m sure there’s a compliment I’m there some where)

All your children commented and you're peeved your DH didn't. That does sound a little, something.

Mind you, DH and I are more likely to say 'nice arse' to each other than 'you look lovely'.
