Silly questions about lawyers/divorce process

Silly but I have no one to ask in real life

Did your solicitor send monthly invoices or did you just pay at the end of the process?

For those who bought their spouse out/were bought out, how long did that particular process take?

How many in person solicitor meetings did those who had a relatively straightforward separation/divorce undertake?

Is there any reading/podcasts worth looking at?

And any reassurance about the resilience of kids having to move home would be good too!

Can’t speak for others, but in my case my Solicitor expected payment as they did things. So if I’d had an hour with her I had to pay at the end.

I would recommend, if you can reach agreement amicably, to avoid solicitors. You’ll need one to review the settlement because a judge won’t accept it otherwise, but there are online firms that will do the whole thing for you for a lot cheaper than the bricks and mortar kind will.
