DS doesn’t like his Dad’s girlfriend

My DS (8) keeps telling me she is trying to take his Dad away from him. I’ve told him to tell his Dad and he says he won’t listen and I’ve told him to write him a note which he says he’s done.

His Dad has had other GFs in the past and he has always been fine with them so I don’t think it’s a case of it just being anyone taking up his Dad’s time.

DS has ASD so does get fixated on things, any advise would be appreciated obviously I want him to trust his instincts about people and talk about his feelings.

What does he say about it? Are his feelings because something concrete has happened or it’s more of a feeling? DS is autistic and can get fixated on an idea. sometimes it’s difficult to pick out whether it’s because something is going on, or it’s been a relatively minor incident that he’s fixated on and it becomes something much bigger to him.

Are you in a position to sit down face to face with Dad and son and have a chat? to try and find out why he is feeling this way ?

He says his Dad doesn’t listen to him when she’s around, and he doesn’t like that he’s changed his photo from him & his dad to him & his GF which he sees when they video call each other. It’s no specific’bad thing’.

No we haven’t got the kind of relationship where we can chat together unfortunately.
