ok, my dh has started a new job 6 weeks ago, thing is he's pissing me right off coz hes so tired all the time, hes no fun and is falling asleep every night at 9 30, i wouldnt mind but its not like ehs doing nights or anyhting, he has to be up about 6:30/7 am and finishes at 4:30 or 3 pm on a friday so its not exactly all hours of the day (hes a gas fitter by the way) my problem is that after battling children all day i need a bit of fun of a night time not a sleeping beauty im so bored! i love him to bits, but i cant be doing with a part time husband, so all u wise mumsnetters please tell me, AM I BEING UNREASONABLE?

Are you sure it is just tiredness - does he feel ill, lost weight or anything? Don't want to worry you but it is worth just considering other possibilities.

Nah he could just be knackered, my dh is up at 5-5.30, off to work at 6, gets back at 7 (works a 1.5/2hr drive away each way) and is in bed by 9-9.30 most nights. Every now and again he's home earlier if working closer, but more often than not, he's not.

yeah he has had an ongoing tummy problem 3LF, w are pretty sure its ibs but we are waiting on an appointment with the gastro specialist, he's recently had an barium swallow which was clear apart from a "slightly dilated duodendal?????" the doctors reckon thats nothing but when we asked what exactly it is the doc said he "didnt know" anyway on a saturday i leave him to lie in and to be honest thats the best day i have with him when hes a little more awake and normal,

I reckon he's tired too especially if he has possible ibs.

Its early days in this new job so perhaps he's finding it hard to adjust. Did he go from one job into another or was he not working before

I do understand how you feel, its just as knackering for you to be at home all day with the kids.

Think compromise is the way to go... excercise like a walk or going to the park withe kids might wake him up a bit and changing his diet.

Does his job involve driving, that might make him tired, it does me..

yeah sheep, he did go from a job from his dad which involved sitting round drinking tea most of the day and being flexable hours to working for a large company where he has to meet deadlines, im hoping that like u said it will just take time for him to ajust nbut it has been 6 weeks now...i feel like getting my friends together and going clubbing as i am only 25, but i feel that would open a whole can of worms
