Self esteem

In the light of my marriage not giving me what I need and neglect over the years my self esteem is rock bottom.

I hate my body, I'm self conscious of my hair and face. It's a bit redoculous really! Major confidence crisis.

Any tips.... Think it's a more psychologic thing as opposed to self care like baths, nails etc.....

You'd be surprised how much self care and treating yourself goes hand in hand with solving the psychological issue.
You start spoiling yourself like you deserve it, you'll start feeling like you do.

Are you still in the marriage?

Honestly, being long term single is the best thing I ever did for my self esteem. I learned that it comes from within, not from what other people can give me.

Leave the marriage? Or has that already occured?

Find a therapist that you feel comfortable with to work on the issue. Self care isn't just psychological though- doing nice things for yourself is part of it, good diet, exercise, treat yourself (within reason), new skincare routine, hair treatment, start a new hobby, day out etc.

Thank you.
We are still married, and it isn't a toxic environment. Just no love there.

I'm detaching and trying to love myself x

Finding one"self" is found within and is the undoing of the untruth of your belief in your low self esteem.

Thanks everyone
My main source of self esteem issues with a Uber critical childhood. It's hard to re-learn what I've been told I think

Here:

The workbook is based on CBT. Even if you just read parts of it to start piecing together things mentally it might help.
