But I look at the Relationship threads and they are always so, so, so depressing.

Good job there are people here to support the posters then.

wastingmylife · 30/08/2007 20:17

Well I suppose if your relationship's going well there's not much to write about!

RubySlippers · 30/08/2007 20:18

well if things are going well, you don't shout it from the rooftops
when things are bad you often need moral support and advice

carolcoles · 30/08/2007 20:18

You'd look a bit of a twat starting a post "god my life is awsome!!!"

RubySlippers · 30/08/2007 20:19

not always depressing either
i think some of those threads show MN at its best
offers of practical help, lots of compassion, sometimes arse kicking

yama · 30/08/2007 20:21

I know what you mean sleepfinder.

MyTwopenceworth · 30/08/2007 20:22

I assume you mean depressing like ... very very sad..., because you are empathising?

It is awful to think there are so many unhappy people out there.

Thank god at least some of them have somewhere they can let it out, maybe get some advice - or perspective and sometimes, some really good practical aid

AND a shoulder to cry on and the feeling of not being so alone, maybe finding someone who's been through it.

So yes, it does make you feel bad to think of the pain some people are going through.

sleepfinder · 30/08/2007 20:24

Yes
