I like a guy on my college course and for a while I feel he has liked me too. He wanted some help and I texted him with some help. He said 'You're a total star Claire, thank you :) x' I never replied to this as I didn't know if I should. This was a few days ago. I saw him today and it was difficult to communicate as our desks had been repositioned. He has been back on the dating sites since which he is entitled to do so. I feel like crying as though I have messed up. How can I turn this around? I'm quite a shy person.

How have you messed up? Just be friendly as you have always been with him and if he likes you things may develop. Try to relax about it all and see what happens.

Just text him and say what a shame they've moved our desks, I much preferred my old view ;-)

Do you see him around and about in college (other than in the classroom)? If you do, stop him and ask him if the help you gave him was useful. If you don’t, try to catch him going into / leaving class. Relax and chat to him (about the course, about college, about how they’ve moved your desks, about anything really).
