Had no idea where to post this an I know completely wrong place but anyways here goes!

So I got the coil in a few weeks ago the IUD copper coil. So I was told after my periods to check if the copper coil was stilll in place. Sorry for TMI but the way to check was to put finger up the vagina an apparently u should feel some strings.

Now I tried this today. But I'm not sure if I could feel the strings!! I mean I felt something but it didn't feel like strings?? So I'm not sure if it's in place?? Can someone please advice that's had the coil need help jus want to make sure it's still there !

After a while they soften and curl round the cervix. Its two thin plastic threads and they should be about a 2cm long coming out of your cervix

Can you identify your cervix by touch? As in, a firm doughnut-like shape at the top of your vagina? If so, feel for the middle of it, and you should be able to feel a shirt pair of strands of what feels like fishing line in the opening.

If you can’t, pop into your GP or a sexual health clinic, get them to check and then have them guide you through finding the strings yourself after.
