Getting back together

After a “I’m not sure if I love you” convo with my partner we separated and he moved in with his friend. We’ve spoke lots and realised that things haven’t been good for a while. We stopped talking, life got in the way etc
My partner has been great throughout whilst I’ve been confused but now I’m really confused over my feelings and we e talked bout counselling.
How do we start trying again without jumping all back in? I want to take it slow, so neither of us get hurt but how do I go about that?

Forgot to say we do have a daughter, so it will be tricky. I don’t want to move back in again until we are certain and it’ll be hard to go back to the start when our daughter is here as don’t want her to know yet.

Any success stories of reconciliation?

Who gave the "not sure if in love with you" speech to whom?

Did he leave you? That makes a difference. If he left you (and his child), moved in with his friend Hmm and you are the one trying to make it work ... prospects aren't great.

If you left him, he wants you back and you are willing to work on it, prospects are more promising.

I gave the ilyb talk and he left. We had stopped learning to communicate with each over, stopped making effort etc

Counselling may help.
It's worth a go if you want to make it work.
Then start from scratch.
Dating once or twice a week.
Sex of the table for now.
Start to build up some fun in your relationship.
Then take it from there.

How long have you been separated? Have either of you been seeing anyone else?

Simplymoi · 10/01/2020 10:57

Around 3 months. No neither of us have.
I just don’t want us both to go back in fully to get hurt again. Don’t want any pressure on either of us etc
