Has anyone used this dating site? How do they work? Can I cancel my monthly subscription anytime?

OP posts:
lottiedelavega · 09/01/2020 21:00

And if so how could I cancel it?

You mean you didn't fall in love in 14 minutes.

lottiedelavega · 09/01/2020 21:31

Not even signed up yet 🤣🤣

Whatever you do, dont use eharmony. Read the reviews. They are renowned for taking payments and saying you have 3 days to cancel and get refund but thats only for certain American states.
It's really not worth it. Stick to POF (I met my Dp on there) or Match.
I was also on Bumble, that was a good one

Batqueen · 10/01/2020 11:15

I met my dp on eharmony. If you use Quidco and get a referral code you can get a much better deal

lottiedelavega · 10/01/2020 20:02

I don't mean to sound stupid. But can't I just stop the direct debit when ever I feel like?

OP posts:
Zampa · 10/01/2020 20:04

I can't remember the payment details but after being on ALL of the dating sites, I finally meet DH on eHarmony. My cousin and another friend are also married to people they meet on the site. I highly recommend it!

Lost87 · 10/01/2020 20:06

No you can't stop the direct debit. You sign up for 6,9 and 12 months and all payments have to be made unless you are in the couple of American states that they allow to cancel within 3 days

lottiedelavega · 10/01/2020 20:08

That's utter crap Hmmwon't be bothering then

OP posts:
Lost87 · 10/01/2020 20:25

I got caught out back when I was on them. I only got them to cancel mine cos I threatened them with ombudsman and fraud as they said you could cancel in 3 days but never stated to me about the States.
I met my partner on POF and I was allowed to cancel without any bother x

Mostlyhappy4 · 10/01/2020 20:45

I tried eHarmony years ago, before I met partner on match, but I just remember there were hardly any men on there. I think they send you a couple of profiles each day but I found it frustrating.

lottiedelavega · 10/01/2020 20:52

I've had a lot of people show interest and message me, but I can't read them till I pay!

I get interest from men irl, just not ones I particularly like! I really don't want to settle. And I don't go anywhere to meet new men. I really don't want to do pof or tinder or 'free' sites as I think (and heard) there are so many dregs on there.

I don't know if they've changed it since I last used it, but it was dire then. Wouldn't let you search who was on the books in your area, as it were, but instead sent me matches every so often based on the over-complicated questionnaire I had to fill in. The men were rarely living anywhere near me and half of them hadn't logged onto the site in months so there seemed no point in messaging them. Having to pay a subscription is unfortunately no guarantee that you'll get a better pool of potential dates, OP. I think you're much better off using one of the free sites and just being very savvy about blocking the weirdos and looking out for bots!
