Massive stroke

I'm not sure what I'm asking really. My ex partner, with whom I am really close, and we share children, has had a massive stroke. He's doing amazingly well, no physical disabilities, and he's generally OK. But he's different, he's changed, he gets easily confused and he's really unsure of himself. I don't know what to do. He's always been the rock of our little family and now it's my turn to look after him, but I don't know where to start.

How long ago was it OP? Is he getting some rehab/physio etc?

It was about 3 weeks ago and he's having physio 4 times per week at home. We have a check up at the hosp next week

It isn't unusual for there to be confusion etc post-stroke, which will likely diminish over time as the brain recovers from what has been a pretty major assault. If he seems to be having issues with understanding or making himself understood, then ask for a referral to Speech and Language Therapy and they'll be able to assess what's going on.
