12 months ago I joined a social group and met a man. We get on really well and had sex once, then didn't see each other anywhere but our group until September, when we went out for his birthday. He asked me to go on holiday with him for 2 weeks abroad, we did and had an amazing time, got on well, laughed all time, good sex and no problems at all. After that apart from usual weekly social meet, he turned down every meet up I suggested but texted me from early morning, all through the day and at night, funny quite loving messages. He let me down for a meal out just before Xmas, so I didn't tell him I was pregnant after our holiday. I've now lost it. Why would a man after a lovely holiday only send texts. He lives 2 miles from me and when we do meet he hugs me and sometimes even kisses me and flirts on messages - but no real life contact - I am totally confused. He didn't even seem to mind I had been pregnant and said "it would have been fun" if I'd had the child ! ! Any advice appreciated

He's just not that into you. You are a standby and it takes no trouble to text. Move on.

He suffers from depression also

Actual depression or excuse-to-treat-you-badly "depression"?

Sounds like he's using you for sex.

I think he likes to know you're there, but doesn't want to be with you. He likes the idea of someone there to hang out with him, when it suits him. The texting keeps you at s comfortable distance, but he only wants the chase, and the sense of flirting and keeping you on the back burner.
To say " it would have been fun" if you'd had his child is bizarre. He seems to live in his own little world. I think he sees you as someone casual, and you always being available for when it suits him, asked it very easy for him.

Thank you for your answer, it is more or less as I thought, but you have clarified things for me a great deal. Many thanks
