Who do we like

Do you think men or women have a certain type of man or lady they fancy or prefer to date. For example petite ladies with dark hair or tall stocky men with blonde hair.
What are your thoughts?

I think lots of people tend to go for someone who looks a bit like them, and with similar levels of attractiveness.

I thought I did - my exH was exactly my "type" physically - dark hair, trendy glasses etc. Turned out to be a nightmare! DP is the complete opposite, bald, tall, tattoos... and the love of my life

I don’t have a physical preference. Some men (though very few) just have that element that triggers desire in me. Not even necessarily sexual (although that too) but a connection of personalities, sense of humour, taste and values.

These men don’t share any physical attributes that I can think of. He doesn’t need to be tall, dark or even handsome. Capable, clever, cool and kind does it for me. It will be in his identity, his clothes, his mannerisms and his interests.
Big, wee, black, white, poor, rich, introvert, extrovert...I can fancy any of them...but rarely do. Few men appeal to me tbh.

Over the years, I've come to recognise that my type is quiet shy men, mostly. Maybe because my dad was too.
Cocky, salesmen type, men put me off.

Physically it's harder to define, but it tends to be dark hair or ginger, with pale skin. Not so keen on very blonde men.
The eyes are important. Richard Gere, for example, has very close eyes and that's a turn off for me.
I like a defined jaw, but DP has a round face.

And if they have housework skills, then I'm weak at the knees.

My ex liked anyone with huge boobs. 🙄 He also liked women who look like his sisters and mother, but he always dates women who look very similar but they don't look like his family members. His exes, myself and his current girlfriend all look the same.
