Dating - where do I start??!!

I've been single (by choice) for 11 years now. My husband died suddenly when my children were very young and, as well as getting myself sorted, I wanted to be there for them as they were growing up. Now they are older, I think the time is right for me to start dating again but I have no clue where to start!! I think online dating/apps are probably the way to go but have no idea which ones to choose - I've heard good and bad things about all of them. Any advice would be appreciated - I do think meeting someone was so much easier when I was in my 20s - I'm now in my early 40s

I had a lot of fun with Guardian Soulmates in the past, although it depends on the area you’re looking in. It was great in London, but there’s often not much choice outside. I tried a few others when I was single, but always went back to GS. Not sure if it’s still the case now but everyone I spoke to on there seemed very genuine - and I got a seven year relationship out of it!

Make sure you use paid for sites, people after a relationship are more likely to invest in paid membership. Not saying free sites can't work but there is a lot more caff to sort through
