Was assaulted abroad - would it be worth reporting to police in the UK as background info in case he has any victims in the UK or would they just say it doesn't matter?

Have you reportd it to local police and to the local embassy/consulate?

No- it's not a country that it would have been worth doing that. I'm back in the uk now

Yes! I was sexually assaulted abroad (within the EU) and it got reported to the police a couple of months after it happened (I was a teenager) the uk police dealt with it and were liaising with the police from that country.

Person who did the assaulting aren't still in that country (non EU) but they're a uk citizen living in the uk

Assuming sexual assault, the law on this is a little complicated, so if you feel able to report to police it may be worth doing so and letting them assess what steps if any can be taken.

Ask the police where you live for advise. Report it to them and see what they can do
