Not sure if this is the right thread, but is there any way i can find out about someone who can't be found anywhere by internet search
Not on facebook or even googling the name doesn't bring anything up,
Tried 192.com, willing to but credits but is it worth it, can i find deails of their past,i can't say why,but need to know of any past convictions etc,
None of the family can be found and i know there are a lot of secrets
Someone i am involved with, but feel very uncomfortable, about the secrecy,

You can go to police and ask them to invoke Clare's Law.
If you can show you are involved with the person they can find out any previous information on DV.
THIS LINK EXPLAINS IT

EvenMoreFuriousVexation · 05/12/2019 12:02

192 will only give you their current rregistatered address.

If you're concerned then maybe Clares Law would be more useful?

NotSuchASmugMarriedNow1 · 05/12/2019 12:03

Are you sure they've given you the right name? How old are they?

dontgobaconmyheart · 05/12/2019 12:10

Clare's law will disclose to you if there are any criminal convictions that might pose a threat to you OP.

192 will just give an address (usually out of date as it will simply be the last registered electoral roll address and people often opt out of the public register as adults- who wants their address made public by googling their name, after all)

Other than hiring a PI there isn't any other route to take, and without more info (which I appreciate you don't want to give) then it's unlikely anyone can advise on the best way forward.

Thanks,it's not to do with DV more like connections with paedophilia
Not actually in a relationship now, but this person is a 70 year old, who thinks it's ok to have a relationship with a 16 year old.,not saying it's him, but could be
No kids involved in my family, but moved from another area to here and all the family seem very secretive
A lot of schoolkids around where he lives, and joking about him and his friend "pretending" to be dirty old men
Also seems to have to be at home by 7pm, it seems like a curfew to me
Or maybe i am being paranoid
Other members of the family even younger not on social media

Is it worth having a look here?, you can search by name or town.

theukdatabase.net

princessTiasmum · 05/12/2019 13:56

Thank you .yes i have looked on there, but nothing,
I know 16 isn't paedophilia, but also made a comment about Jimmy Savile, who was into younger children
The fact that he thinks 16 is ok, made my skin crawl, hence the end of relationship

Try different search engines like Yahoo and bing. Sometimes they have stuff that is not on google.

princessTiasmum · 05/12/2019 20:05

Thanks will try that

OP I hate to say this but I once started something online (and then irl) with a guy who I couldn't find anything about.

Turns out he was up to his neck in trouble - secret life, kids everywhere, wife and another couple of women on the side, ended up in prison.

If you can't find a single thing I'd tread very very carefully - and assume he's hiding something he doesn't want you to find.

happinessischocolate · 06/12/2019 06:21

Because of data laws when you do a search it won't show any newspaper articles about that person, however, if you go onto the local papers website and search for the person then if they've ever done a report it'll come up. I found out stuff this way, local papers often have "in the dock" reports about convictions too.

princessTiasmum · 07/12/2019 12:45

Thanks everyone, strongerthanithought yes that is what i think, he took pains to show me stuff with his name on etc, which i thought very strange to start with, and to prove he was going somewhere he said he was, which i wouldn't have questioned anyway
Can't find anything about his son or daughter either and you would think one of them would be on facebook or similiar
Also used a normal phone, not a smart phone, what they call a burner phone i think
I know in my mind there is something not right, which is why i am so curious
