My lovely son will celebrate his Gran's 70th birthday on Sunday, I had arranged for him and I to go visit this week but he has specifically asked me to go with him and his dad, (this came out of the blue as we have been separated for over 10 years) I have no wish to upset anyone but I don't know if I can do this, I still love his dad and I always will. So should I go and put a brave face on. I love my MIL but we all lead such different lives now and I have no wish to open up old wounds, as I think I might just hope that we may get back together. So should I accept the invitation or should I politely decline?
