Will I meet anyone else after 42?

I’m married but not happily so. He’s a nice enough guy but I have come to realise that I’m not in love with him. We have tried counselling. He doesn’t know how I feel.

My question is, if we split up, what are my chances of meeting someone else and falling in love?

I have 2 children aged 4 and 7.

I think it’s fear of never meeting anyone else that’s stopping me from making the break.

Have you divorced and met the love of your life afterwards? I’m so scared. Thanks.

I met a fantastic man in my mid 40s and our relationship is wonderful.

I was also alone for some years before that, which was also wonderful.

Don't stay and be unhappy, OP. Life is too short.

The older you get, the harder it will be to meet people but, it won’t be impossible

It depends. I have friends who had had no problems but they are v good looking and youthful with money and careers
Others have had luck but for them looks are not important so they are dating guys who I personally wouldn't look twice at
If you are reasonably attractive and want someone the same vintage and same level of looks etc I would think it is pretty hard out there. Online dating has given all the power to the men.
Really its all luck but I think I would prefer to be on my own than with someone who bored me

Happily married (I think) at 45. We both have kids so nothing is simple but the DH bit is good.

Awww, well I'm 42 lol and maybe I'll meet someone one day. For now, happy to not particularly bother with men. :)

Hi OP, 66 here, still get guys trying it on. Married, so I see them off, but its never over, till its over and in your 40's you might not realise how very gorgeous you still are.
