How long til the absolute comes through?
Was hoping I’d get a confirmation email with instructions at some point today, but not yet.
Is it 6 weeks one day from now, or from when I get notice of the next steps?

Do you have dc? If so, have you agreed a child arrangements order?

Have the financials been sorted?

Aisforharlot · 05/11/2019 18:11

Yes, all sorted amicably. Can’t wait for it to all be official.

How exciting - on the brink of freedom! Grin

You will need to apply for the Absolute and you can do this 6 weeks and 1 day (43 days) from the date the Nisi was decreed.

It's usually a fairly quick turnaround from application to decree and the Absolute should be in your eager mitts some time around New Year... have a good Eve and look forward to enjoying 2020 as a singleton.

How long did it take to get the nisi? Just started the process so curious xx

welshladywhois40 · 06/11/2019 08:23

I had to apply to get my decree absolute and couldn't do it for 6 weeks. But I was advised to wait till I had my financial agreement in place which took about 18 months!

Even if things are amicable get the financial piece done as i was advised once you are completely divorced it is much harder to do

Congrats, OP, beginning of a new chapter. Thanks

Shodan · 06/11/2019 08:54

Congrats!

I'm still waiting for mine Angry XH is dawdling, and has been for well over a year. So frustrating.

Aisforharlot · 06/11/2019 08:56

Foggy, I did it all online, no snags or objections at all and it’s been about 5 months. Longest wait was from nisi application to reading, which took about 2 months because of queues.

Just rang and I can do it online on the 18th of next month Grin
Thanks all!
Foggy, I just checked my files and I started the process at the end of July.
