This is a thread in adniration for all those good honest men who take on our children.

My husband has become the daddy my son never had. He took over daddy role when my son was just 2 and at a horrible stage! My son now loves his daddy very much and had become a very confident, happy and secure little boy and i have my dh to thank for that!

So HIP HIP HOORAY for all the great men out there!

HIP HIP

Hi cms, my dh has just taken out DS2 so that DS1 and i can have some quality time together so i suppose he is not too bad today!

dottee · 25/09/2004 15:19

Hi cms and others

My dp has also taken on my two (one of which has sn and is prone to sometimes giving dp a hard time).

Last week I had a boozy Body Shop party. He went to bed while the girls were prattling downstairs.

We're both full of cold at the moment but it was he who got up this morning to sort out some workmen at our home, so I got a lie in until 11am. When I got up he brought me in a coffee. (My two are at their dad's btw). And he's fixed my laptop today so I'm back on MN. And I met him on the Internet small ads.!

I love him to bits.

My dh is great too, he does a big food shop every weekend, most of our cooking (sooo much better than me!) works long hours without complaint,is a fantastic father and my best friend. Having lived in the shadow of my parents' very unhappy marriage I appreciate him all the more.

My dh is the nicest man in the world!

Freckle · 25/09/2004 16:01

Can't be because I've got him . Dh is a fantastic father, absolutely itching to spend time with his children (although the feeling isn't reciprocated all the time - daddy sometimes comes a poor second to gameboys and playstations!). He's a great husband too and I spend every day thanking my lucky stars that I found him.

childmindersam · 25/09/2004 16:08

I feel sorry for the single women out there cos it looks like weve got most of the good uns!

Last Saturday DD woke up at 7 and DH and I both whimpered and curled up tighter, but I asked if he could get up with her and let me have a lie-in as I was tired, even though he'd had 3 hours less sleep than me (playing on the computer), he got up without complaining and I woke up to an empty house 3 hours later. He'd changed her, fed her breakfast, and gone jogging with her in her stroller.

He's a real star.

My DH is also wonderful - he is very good with the kids, very romantic and although he has an extremely busy job - he carves out really special times for each of us!! He took on DD1 and we both adopted DD2 - he is a star!
